For many years now Avira has held it’s ground as one of the top antiviruses on the market. We looked into their most popular product, Avira Antivirus Pro, and found some exciting and interesting features we’d like to share with you.
Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG, or most commonly known as Avira, is a multinational, family-owned company, based near Lake Constance in Tettnag, Germany. It was founded in 1986 by Tjark Auerbach, and has operated as an IT security company since. Now Avira has more than 500 employees and additional European offices in Munich, Germany and Bucharest, Romania. They also own sales and marketing offices in Beijing, China and in Burlingame, California in the US.
Package Information and Key Features
Avira’s basic home PC security product is Antivirus Pro, and it gives you all you need to keep your PC use safe and private at home. Firstly, it offers real-time protection from malware and PUA – potentially unwanted applications, which might be integrated within your existing software, and are bad because they might be displaying ads, redirecting you to other websites and slowing down your computer. In addition, Avira Antivirus Pro blocks infected and phishing sites, which allows you carefree browsing. The product also includes data and identity protection, which will keep your online banking and shopping secure. You will not have to worry about your credit card information being stolen, or something going awry with your money transfers. The product will also keep your home network secure against botnets and hackers. Most importantly, Avira Antivirus Plus will do its best to repair damage caused by viruses and such similar malicious software.
Reliability And Performance
Avira’s greatest feature by far is its top-notch malware protection, which can be customised depending on how you want to use your computer. Unfortunately, Avira’s Antivirus significantly affects your computer’s performance during scans. However, at least the fast scans are indeed fast and won’t take up much of your time. In any case, Avira’s overall performance can be said to be excellent, when we take into account that most independent tests report 99% to 100% threat detection.
Avira Antivirus Pro will keep your PC secure on a number of fronts – from dangerous URLs, spyware, malware, phishing to viruses and trojans. Among other things, your online shopping and banking will be kept secure and your identity will be completely safe, as Avira blocks keyloggers, rootkits and spyware. The data you keep on your computer will stay there, as Avira will prevent it from being hijacked or manipulated in any way.
Installation and Ease of Use
The installation process is quick, simple and straightforward. It takes only about 3 minutes to get your system secured. After installing the program you will just need to enter the activation code and you’re all set. From that point on you shouldn’t have any problems using your Avira Antivirus Pro, as the interface is easy to navigate and you should be able to easily find all the features you need, turn them on or of or modify them in some other way. In this sense, Avira is very user friendly.
